Title IX Compliance

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, 20 U.S.C. 1681 et seq. (Title IX), and its implementing regulations, 34 C.F.R. Part 106 ("Title IX") prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities by recipients of federal financial assistance. The Title IX regulations require recipients to designate a Title IX coordinator, adopt and disseminate a nondiscrimination policy and put grievance procedures in place to address complaints of discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities.

The Coordinator for Title IX at Wells College is Geoffrey P. Gabriel. Title IX Coordinator and College Compliance Officer. He can be contacted via telephone (315-364-3313), e-mail (ggabriel@wells.edu) and by mail (Wells College Human Resources, 170 Main Street, Aurora, N.Y. 13026).

The university's nondiscrimination policy and procedures are located on the Globe (http://globe.wells.edu) and searching within the "Wells College Community Handbook" and "Student Conduct Code".

If you have any questions or concerns about the college's compliance with Title IX, please contact the Title IX coordinator, Kit Van Orman, using the information provided above.
