Jessica Galatioto was named head coach of the Express field hockey program in the summer of 2019. Galatioto is a former assistant coach and player at three NCAA Division III institutions. She is the 15th head coach in Wells College field hockey history.

"We are excited about the addition of Jessica to our athletics department staff. She showed initiative and drive in her endeavors and development to this point in her career. She is absolutely the right choice to be the next field hockey coach for Wells College," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Lindberg said.

Galatioto was most recently an assistant coach at St. John Fisher College over the last two seasons. She helped the Cardinals to a 30-9 overall record during the 2018 and 2017 seasons. This past season, St. John Fisher players earned five all-conference, two all-region, and one All-American award for St. John Fisher players.

She earned a master's degree in teaching from Bethany College, where she served as graduate assistant coach for the 2015 season specializing in goalkeeper training. She contributed to the team's recruiting and player development goals, film study, and team operations. She was also the assistant intramural coordinator for Bethany College during the 2016-17 school year.

Galatioto, a native of Queensbury, New York, earned a bachelor's degree in physical education and health education from Castleton State University where she had a distinguished playing career. As a four-year member of the field hockey team and three-year starter at goalkeeper, Galatioto contributed to North Atlantic Conference championships in 2012 and 2013. She earned numerous academic honors during her collegiate career at Castleton from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association and the Castleton physical education department.

Galatioto has coached for USA Field Hockey Futures in the Rochester, New York region, for the Empire United Field Hockey Club, and within the Fairport Central School District. She has worked summer camps at the high school and university levels.

"I'd like to thank Dr. Cindy Speaker, Mike Lindberg, and the search committee for the opportunity to join Wells College at the beginning of my collegiate head coaching career," Galatioto said. "I'm very excited to get started with the current student-athletes and to build the program to the potential I know Wells has."

Field hockey is one of the institution's longest-existing varsity programs, dating back to the 1976 season, and won North Eastern Athletic Conference titles in 2015 and 2016. Wells has had nine players earn all-conference recognition over the last four seasons.

Galatioto takes over for interim head coach Meg Milliman, who guided the program in the 2018 season. Galatioto began her appointment at Wells College in February 2019.
