Bio

Elyse Putorti is in her second year of work with Wells College for the 2016-17 calendar year. A 2011 graduate of Ithaca College with a B.S. in Athletic Training and a minor in Aging Studies, Putorti is primarily employed by the Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca and is under contract to work for the Express. Prior to joining the Express, she served as an athletic trainer for local high schools, including Ithaca High School where she covered football, soccer, basketball, ice hockey and wrestling.

With Cayuga Medical Center, she also serves as an Orthopedic Patient Navigator, coordinating care between multiple health care providers, collecting and monitoring patient feedback and outcome scores, and teaching patients pre-operative education lectures. She has also conducted several presentations at national conferences, including the American College of Sports Medicine Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference and the Eastern Athletic Trainer's Association Conference.

A recipient of the Marc Alderman Award as an undergraduate, she was also a member of the Leadership Scholarship Program, a renewable scholarship acquired during her years at Ithaca. Putorti is also certified in First Aid, CPR and AED. She is also a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard.
