SAAC Sports Carnival Raises Funds For Special Olympics

The Wells College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee recently hosted a successful Sports Carnival event at the Schwartz Athletic Center to engage Wells students and community members and to raise funds for donation to the Special Olympics.

Representatives of all 15 Wells College varsity sports hosted and participated in the event, and more than 100 total students and community members attended.

The event featured sports-themed carnival games where participants competed against other participants or against the clock. Some examples of the carnival games were a field hockey skee-ball toss, soccer bowling, three-legged races, and dizzy foul shots.

There was a suggested donation for admission to the event, a t-shirt giveaway, and extra opportunities for awards and prizes. In total, more than $700 was raised and donated to the Special Olympics. For more information on the Special Olympics, please visit www.specialolympics.org.
