NCAA, NEAC Open Dialogue On Mental Health Awareness With Inaugural #BreakTheStigma Social Media Campaign

LATHAM, N.Y. – The NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is standing up and stepping forward to break the stigma surrounding mental health struggles.

The organization is excited to announce its inaugural 2020 Mental Health Social Media Campaign from Monday May 4 through Thursday, May 7. This campaign is a platform for student-athletes, administrators, coaches, staff, and support networks across the country to start the discussion, speak out on, and break the stigma surrounding mental health.

The goal of this campaign is to use social media to create a dialogue on mental health and to communicate the benefits of normalizing mental health awareness.  The campaign is requesting that people feature personal definitions of what breaking the stigma of mental health means to them.  While breaking the stigma can mean different things to people, each definition is valid.
