'On This Day' Wells Men's Cross Country Team Runs Strong at Oswego

'On This Day' is a Wells College Athletics feature series taking a look back on events that occurred on this day, Sept. 16, three years ago in 2017.

The Wells College men's cross country team turned in a strong eighth-place finish in a field of 13 teams at the Oswego State Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017. The eight-kilometer course covered a mostly flat terrain on the Oswego State campus, located on the shores of Lake Ontario.

Adam Sleezer led the Wells College contingent with a 41st-place finish and 30 points and a time of 27 minutes, 58 seconds.

Tanner Mingen was next for Wells with a time of 30:46. Austin Heil, Tony D'Arpino, and Eli Stone finished within four places of each other as Heil ran 32:03, D'Arpino clocked 32:42 and Stone finished with a time of 32:47.

Bradlee Sherman (35:23) and John Tolley (38:44) closed out the Wells lineup.
