Baseball Offense Explodes In 22-2 Victory

The Wells College baseball team scored nine runs in the first inning and went on to a 22-2 victory over Clarks Summit on Tuesday, March 13 at Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Express totaled 18 hits including six extra-base hits.

Dylan Nolan had six hits, a single-game school record over the program's young history. He was 6-for-7 with three doubles, a triple, three RBIs, and four runs scored.

Anthony Aumick had three hits, scored three runs, and drove in two. Tyler Young and KeAndre Sadler had two hits each.

The nine-run first inning included a two-run triple by Dylan Nolan, his second hit of the inning, and an RBI double by Brandon Shirley.

Wells scored three in the second, four in the fourth and three in the eighth.

Derek Shea started and earned the victory. Over five innings he had four strikeouts with no walks. He allowed two hits and one unearned run. Garrett Gagnon pitched two innings with four strikeouts. Christian Jorden and Mark Yorkey also pitched one inning each in relief.

Wells is 4-1 on the season and Clarks Summit is 0-5. The same teams will play Wednesday, March 14 at noon in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
