Another Baseball Victory Over Clarks Summit

The Wells College baseball team jumped out to a 9-0 lead and went on to a 13-4 victory over Clarks Summit on Wednesday, March 14 at Myrtle Beach, S.C. Mark Yorkey had three hits and Kevin Spaeth and Anthony Aumick had two hits each for the Express. Wells improved to 5-1 on the young season and Clarks Summit is 0-8.

Wells got on the board with two runs in the top of the first as Anthony Aumick tripled to drive in Kevin Spaeth and Tyler Young drove in Aumick with an infield grounder. The Express added four tuns in the top of the second boosted by a three-run homer from Aumick.

Yorkey finished the game 3-for-6 with two RBIs and a run scored. Aumick was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, two runs scored, and the home run and a single. Spaeth had two hits and four runs scored.

Wells took advantage of eight walks and six errors by Clarks Summit.

Johnny Hall stated and worked four scoreless innings with six strikeouts and one walk and one hit allowed. Four relievers combined to pitch five innings with six hits and one walk allowed with nine strikeouts.

Wells faces Pine Manor on March 15 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
