Penn College Bests Wells Baseball In Pair

The Wells College baseball team began North Eastern Athletic Conference play with a pair of games at Penn College on Sunday, April 8. Penn College won the first game 8-0 and the second game 15-0. Wells is 10-7 overall this season and 0-2 in the NEAC. The Express continues conference play Wednesday, April 11 at Falcon Park in Auburn, N.Y. against SUNY Poly.

Penn College 8, Wells 0

Wells was held to one hit in the opening game, a sixth-inning single by Tanner Dunkel. Dunkel also drew a walk, one of five Wells players to reach via base on balls in the game.

Penn College scored single runs in the first and second innings and added four runs in the third.

Brandon Shirley started and took the loss. Johnny Hall and Christian Jorden worked a total of three innings in relief.

Penn College 15, Wells 0

The Wildcats broke open the score with eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and all eight were unearned off of Wells starter Jared Strait.

Dylan Nolan and Kevin Spaeth had singles for Wells.
