Baseball Team on Short End of See-Saw Game

The Wells College baseball team rallied twice to tie its game against Westminster before taking a fifth-inning lead, but the Titans rallied back to take the contest 12-4 on Wednesday, March 12 in Florida.

After Westminster took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, Wells tied the score when Manny Carrillo reached home after a wild pitch. The Titans regained the lead in the fourth, but a three-run fifth inning led to the Express taking a 4-2 lead after the top of the fifith.

Cole Murray's fifth-inning single to right field brought home a pair of Express runners at the midpoint of the contest. Westminster potted runs in each of its last three at-bats with four runs in the sixth, five in the seventh and one in the eighth to retake the lead.

Chase Sebastian went most of the way for Wells on the mound with five innings of work. Murray, Luke Eitner and Ben Beratta each threw a single inning in relief.
