FIELD HOCKEY LOSES CLOSE GAME

The Wells College Field Hockey Team (3-2-0) could not find the back of the goal as Philadelphia Biblical University shutout the Express 1-0 today at Wells. Freshmen Erica Yordy (Palmyra, PA) led PBU with four shots and one goal. Goalie Beth Cereo (Port Biron, NY) finished with eight saves on the day.

 PBU got the scoring started just three minutes into the game when Yordy hammered home a loose ball near the goal to give PBU the lead. Little did either team know that would be the only score of the day. The two teams played a scoreless 67 minutes to finish the game. Each team finished with seven corners and eight shots on goal. The Express were able to hold PBU to just one shot in the second half after allowing seven in the first half.

 The Express will next play Ramapo on Saturday, September 20 at 2:00 pm here at Wells.
