EXPRESS FALL IN OPENING ROUND GAME TO FROSTBURG STATE

Chambersburg, PA – Frostburg State University (8-10) jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after the first half cruising to a 5-1 victory over the Wells field hockey team (1-13) in the opening round game of the Wilson College Independent Field Hockey Championship on Saturday afternoon in Chamberburg, PA. Adrienne Tomao scored the lone goal for the Express while Martha Knowlan finished with four saves in the loss.

Brooke Tapman and Chelsea Smith each tallied two goals to lead the Frostburg attack. FSU outshot the Express 15-6 and held a 9-7 advantage in penalty corners.

Wells will now take on St. Vincent College in the consolation game on Sunday, November 1st at 10:00 am in Chambersburg, PA. The win sends FSU to the championship game against Wilson College set to being at 1:00 pm in Chambersburg, PA.
