WELLS FIELD HOCKEY FALLS IN STROKE-OFFS

(Aurora, N.Y.)- It took 100 minutes, two overtimes, and 10 stroke-offs to decide the winner between the Wells College and Cedar Crest College field hockey teams on Saturday afternoon in Allentown, Pa. Catherine Onjack scored on the tenth and final stroke-off sending Cedar Crest to the 1-0 victory. Lindsey Harrison finished with 14 saves to earn the victory, while Madeline Bass suffered the loss with six saves.   

Despite a scoreless 100 minutes of play, both teams put up a strong offensive effort. Wells held the advantage in shots 24-18 and penalty corners 12-10 but neither team was able to convert. Harrison was the story of the day making 14 saves for Cedar Crest, while her team managed just six shots on goal.  

The loss drops Wells to 0-5, while Cedar Crest improves to 2-6.  

Wells will head to Rosemont College to take on the Ravens Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in Rosemont, Pa.
