NEUMANN TOPS EXPRESS

AURORA, N.Y. - Neumann University snapped a scoreless tie in the second half en route to a 2-0 victory over the Wells College Express in field hockey action Saturday afternoon in Aurora. Erica Crabtree and Ellyn Jones eached tallied a goal for Neumann, while goalie Sam Katowski finished with one save. Express goalie Amanda Catalano (Lockport, N.Y.) finished with four saves in the loss. With the victory Neumann improves to 2-10 while the Express fall to 3-9.

The first half was tightly contested with Neumann registering the only shot in the half. The second half would be a different story as Neumann came out firing, drawing 17 penalty corners, while putting six shots on net. Jones broke the tie in the 50^th minute and Crabtree added an insurance with less than three minutes to play to seal the victory.

Neumann held the advantage in shots 7-3 and penalty corners 20-9. The Express return to action on Monday when they take on the Marywood University Pacers at 4 p.m. in Aurora.
