MORRIS NAMED HEAD COACH FOR FIELD HOCKEY AND WOMEN'S LACROSSE

(AURORA, N.Y.)─ The Wells College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that Kim Morris has been named the head coach for field hockey and women's lacrosse.  Morris currently holds her master's degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland and her undergraduate degree in the same area from SUNY Brockport where she was a member of the Golden Eagles lacrosse team.  Prior to accepting the position, Morris spent several years as a high school coach in the central New York area.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Kim to our staff and the Wells community," said Chair of the Search Committee and Assistant Athletic Director Aaron Bouyea. "I am absolutely confident her genuine enthusiasm, experience in both sports, and her commitment to the Division III philosophy are the right fit for Wells and will undoubtedly help lead and grow both programs."

Morris takes over a field hockey program that will be looking to improve on a 3-12 season last year and a lacrosse program that has enjoyed some recent success, including two straight trips to the North Atlantic Conference tournament.

"I am incredibly excited about this wonderful opportunity to become head coach of the Wells College field hockey and women's lacrosse teams," said newly appointed head coach Kim Morris. "I recognize just how impressive Wells College is, and I am committed to working with the administration, student-athletes, and the entire community to take the field hockey and women's lacrosse programs to new heights. My end result is to make my athletes better people in the world and also better lacrosse and field hockey players."

The field hockey team will return to campus in mid-August for pre-season training and will open their season on the road, September 1, against Houghton College at 7 p.m; while the women's lacrosse team will return to campus on August 24 and begin practice in their non-traditional season this coming fall.
