Field Hockey Stunned By Keuka, 1-0

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. – The Wells College field hockey team outshot its opponent by a wide margin for the second-straight game, but the Wolfpack of Keuka College stunned the Express with a 1-0 victory on Sunday. Wells falls to 2-5 on the season, picking up their first North Eastern Athletic Conference loss (1-1), while Keuka moves to 2-5 on the year with a 1-0 league record.

Wells outshot Keuka by a 29-to-7 margin just one game removed from overwhelming Keystone by a 24-to-8 shot spread, but the Express were unable to score for the second-straight contest. Alizabeth Knout scored the lone goal of the game for the Wolfpack, tapping home a rebound at 54:52 to lift her team to the victory. 

The Express dominated the time of possession throughout the contest, but especially in a strong first half that saw Wells fire 17 of the game's first 20 shots through the first 35 minutes. The Keuka defense, however, was up to the task as  Keuka goalkeeper Elizabeth Sherman made 13 saves alone in just the first half alone. She finished with 19 total saves in the shutout while Wells backstop, Kendrick Wilson, turned aside three-of-four shots in the loss.
