Oswego State Comes From Behind To Defeat Wells Field Hockey

The Wells College field hockey team fell by a 4-1 score at Oswego State on Monday, Sept. 12. The Express took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Nicole Sales in the 21st minute, but the Lakers scored four straight goals to take the victory. Wells is 1-5 on the season and Oswego State is 3-0.

Sales scored for Wells midway through the first half when she collected a rebound off of an initial shot from Shianne Stokes. It was the first goal of the season for Sales. It also marked the fifth time in six games this year that Wells has scored the first goal of the game.

Oswego State scored twice in the first half and twice in the second half. The Lakers had an 18-7 advantage in shots and a 12-3 advantage in penalty corners. Wells goalkeeper Kelsey Kokosa made four saves.

Wells returns to action this weekend with home games Saturday and Sunday. The Express hosts Bryn Mawr at 4:30 p.m. Saturday and then welcomes Marywood at noon Sunday. Both games will be at the Wells Turf Field.
