Kelsey Kokosa Gets NEAC Honor For Third Time

Kelsey Kokosa of the Wells College field hockey team earned North Eastern Athletic Conference recognition for the week ending Oct. 2. She was named Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Express to a 1-0 overtime victory over Wilson College on Oct. 1.

It is the third time this season, and second week in a row, that Kokosa has been named Defensive Player of the Week for field hockey.

The freshman goalkeeper came up huge in goal against Wilson in a rematch of last year's NEAC Championship, making four big saves through 75-plus minutes between the pipes to secure a 1-0 shutout win during the overtime thriller. Kokosa has two shutouts on the year. Kokosa's play over the last two weeks has kept the Express undefeated in NEAC play at 2-0.

Wells will play road games Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 10-11 at New England College and at Castleton State. Both of those games begin at 4 p.m.
