New England College Takes 2-1 Win Over Wells Field Hockey

The Wells College field hockey began the first of back-to-back road games this week with a 2-1 loss at New England College in Henniker, N.H. on Monday, Oct. 10. Both teams have 4-10 records this season.

All three of the game's goals came in the first half. New England College opened the scoring in the fourth minute and then doubled the lead in the 18th minute.

Wells scored with 9:43 remaining in the first half on an unassisted goal by Nicole Sales. It was the second goal of the year for Sales.

Neither team scored in the second half, and the Pilgrims held on for the win. Wells outshot the host school 4-1 in the second half and had a 2-1 advantage in penalty corners.

The Express is back in action Tuesday at Castleton State in a 4 p.m. game.
