Field Hockey Goalkeeper Solomon Earns NEAC Award

Wells College field hockey goalkeeper Allison Solomon was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 24, 2017. It is the first NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week honor for the freshman from Conway, N.H.

Solomon continued her strong freshman campaign by making 32 saves over two games last week for the Express. Solomon had 12 saves in a game at Keystone College, and then made a season- and career-best 20 saves against Houghton College. She had a .744 save percentage on the week.

Solomon ranks first in the NEAC and fourth in the nation with 15.33 saves per game.

Wells returns to conference play this weekend, with a home game Sunday at 2 p.m. against Bryn Athyn College at the Wells Turf Field.
