The Wells College field hockey team lost 4-3 in overtime at Wilson College on Saturday, Oct. 21. Wilson scored the final four goals of the game including the game-winner after 11 minutes and 14 seconds of overtime.
Wells scored all three of its goals in the first half. Nicole Sales scored the opener at 19:01 when she converted a rebound in front. Kelly Mason doubled the lead for Wells in the 24th minute on a diagonal shot from the right side. The Express went ahead 3-0 just before halftime on a goal from Mollie Walts, assisted by Kate Wells.
The Express outshot Wilson 6-2 in the first half, but Wilson outshot Wells 6-0 and scored three second-half goals.
Wells had the first four shots of overtime, before Wilson scored the game-winner.
Wells is 2-12 overall and finished North Eastern Athletic Conference play with a 2-2 record. Wilson is 9-5 overall and also 2-2 in the conference. Wilson advances to the NEAC championship game against Keuka College next weekend.
Wells hosts Brockport on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the team's Senior Day game.
