Wells Field Hockey Falls In Season Finale

The Wells College field hockey team closed its 2017 season with a 9-2 loss at St. Lawrence University on Friday, Oct. 27.

St. Lawrence built a 6-0 lead in the first half and outscored Wells 3-2 in the second half. Kate Wells scored an unassisted goal for Wells in the 45th minute to get the Express on the board. With 6:09 remaining in the second half, Alyssa Rocas scored her first-career goal on an assist from Kelly Mason. A shot by Mason was deflected by Rocas past the St. Lawrence goalkeeper.

Wells goalkeeper Allison Solomon made five saves.

St. Lawrence improved to 6-11 on the year.

Wells finished the year 2-15 overall, and was 2-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The Express finished in a three-way tie for second place in the NEAC.
