Wells Field Hockey Wins At Lancaster Bible

The Wells College field hockey team picked up its first win of the season with a 4-0 win at Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, Sept. 15. It was the first North Eastern Athletic Conference game of the year for the Express.

The Express opened the scoring in the first half with an unassisted goal by Alyssa Rocas. It was her first goal of the season and second goal of her career. Wells led 1-0 at halftime.

Two goals in a span of five minutes in the second half pushed the Wells advantage to three goals. The second goal of the game came off of a penalty corner. Whitney Coleman inserted, and Chloe Marcus and Caitlin Lawrence connected on passes before Mollie Walts finished the play with a goal.

It was the second goal of the year for Walts and it came in the 47th minute.

Less than five minutes later, a pass from Rocas found Coleman and Coleman converted to give the Express a 3-0 lead.

Coleman scored again following a long run to account for the 4-0 scoreline. She has a team-high three goals on the season.

Wells goalkeeper Allison Solomon had three saves for her first career shutout.

Wells held a 12-4 advantage in shots and 6-4 advantage in penalty corners.
