NEAC Honors For Field Hockey Student-Athletes

Two members of the Wells College field hockey team earned recognition from the North Eastern Athletic Conference for their performances during the week ending Sept. 16. Whitney Coleman was the NEAC Offensive Player of the Week and Allison Solomon was the NEAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Wells earned its first victory of the season on Saturday, Sept. 15 with a 4-0 win over NEAC opponent Lancaster Bible College. In that match, Coleman scored two goals in the second half. Solomon made three saves in the game and earned her first career shutout.

Coleman, a junior from Oneida, New York, is majoring in psychology with minors in adolescent education and childhood education. She leads Wells with three goals and seven points on the season.

Solomon, a sophomore from Conway, New Hampshire, is a health science major with a pre-med concentration. She made 16 saves in a game against Oneonta and 12 saves at Cedar Crest. She has double-digit saves in five of the six games this season.

Wells will be in action with a home game Saturday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. against Sage.
