Field Hockey Hosts Pink Game; Falls To Elmira

The Wells College field hockey team hosted its annual Pink Game on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Wells Turf Field. The team honored and celebrated breast cancer survivors, accepted donations to benefit the Susan G. Komen organization, and wore special pink jerseys and pink shoelaces to show its support for those affected by breast cancer. Elmira College won the game 6-0.

The game was evenly played in the first half. Elmira scored the only goal of the half. Wells had a great chance to score when a close-range shot was wide following a good passing sequence. Elmira pulled away with five goals in the second half.

Wells goalkeeper Allison Solomon had 14 saves.

Wells is 1-7 on the season. Elmira improved to 2-6. The Express returns to action Saturday, Sept. 29 at The College at Brockport for a noon start.
