The Wells College field hockey team hosted North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Keuka College on Saturday, Oct. 13 and the visiting Wolves won by a 7-0 score.
Prior to the game, Wells celebrated its two seniors on Senior Day. Ivy Cromp is a four-year starter for Wells and Katherine Pryor is a three-year team member and defensive leader. Cromp, from Sauquoit, New York, is a health sciences major with a pre-veterinary concentration and is minoring in business. Pryor, from Oneida, New York, is a chemistry major with a minor in adolescent education.
Keuka scored four times in the first half and three goals in the second half. Wells goalkeeper Allison Solomon made nine saves and Abby Gilson had a defensive save.
Both teams entered the game with 1-0 records in the NEAC. By virtue of the victory, Keuka will host the NEAC Championship game against Wells on either Oct. 27 or 28. Keuka is 4-8 overall and 2-0 in the NEAC. Wells is 1-11 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
Next up for Wells is a Wednesday, Oct. 17 game at Hartwick College at 4 p.m.
