Burns Registers Season-Best Save Total in Road Defeat

The Wells College field hockey team took to the road for the final time of the 2019 season against an undefeated North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent in a 10-0 loss at Keuka on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The Wolves may have had plenty of fire power with four players netting a pair of goals apiece, but just as exciting was the play of Express goalkeeper Sabrina Burns.

The freshman registered a season-high 19 saves during the contest and it was the first time all season she recorded at least four or more saves in each quarter. Burns has now tendered 141 saves on the season in her 12 starts with nearly an average of a dozen saves-per-game.

The field hockey team returns home for its season finale against non-conference Nazareth College on Tuesday, Oct. 22 before beginning NEAC post-season play.
