Mixed Golf Competes At Utica Invitational

CLINTON, N.Y. – Freshman Ben Stone (Potsdam, N.Y.) fired a team-best 78 as the Wells College golf team placed ninth as a team at the 2012 Utica Invitational held at Skenandoa Golf Club by host Utica College Sunday afternoon. The Royals of the University of Scranton captured first place for the fourth-straight year, shooting a combined 294 on the day.

Amongst the 54 player field, Stone finished in a three way tie for 13th place overall. Sophomore Erich Kaempffe (North Rose, N.Y.) placed second for the Express, carding a 92 on the afternoon. Freshman golfer Brooke Benedetto (Williamstown, N.Y.) shot a 102, while Alex Manley (Derby, N.Y.) turned in a score of 112. Freshman Cameron Henkel (Wilton, Me.) finished one stroke behind Manley, shooting a 113 to conclude the day.
