EXPRESS BASKETBALL SOARS OVER ELMIRA

Aurora, New York – Juan Paulino (Bronx, NY) notched a double-double (13 pts, 11 rebs) and Darrell Bullock (Chicago, IL) finished with 20-points as the Wells College men's basketball team rolled over the Elmira College Soaring Eagles 67-59 on Tuesday afternoon in Elmira. Freshmen Greg Jones (Alexandria, VA) finished with 12-points while freshmen Craig Gaylord (Alexandria, VA) chipped in with 11-points for the Express.

Wells found themselves down 13-12 early in the first half, but poor shooting by the Soaring Eagles (33.3 percent) and strong defense by the Express (16 turnovers, five steals) led to a 23-9 run over the last 14-minutes to close out the half with a 35-22 lead. The Express would see their lead fall to five with 11-minutes left in the game, but the Soaring Eagles could never climb closer as Wells cruised to their third victory of the season.

With the win Wells improves to 3-6 on the year and will travel to Regis College in Massachusetts for the Regis Holiday Tournament on Saturday, January 3rd. Wells will open up play against Regis starting at 4:00 pm.
