BULLOCK AND PAULINO LEAD EXPRESS PAST FIGHTING TIGERS

Cobleskill, N.Y.–  Darrell Bullock scored a game high 29 points and Juan Paulino added 17 points and 15 rebounds as the Wells College men's basketball team (14-6) rolled over the SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers (7-13) 75-60 on Sunday afternoon at Cobleskill. Donovan Johnson led the Fighting Tigers with 20 points, while Damon Franklin chipped in with 12 points, six assists, and seven rebounds.

Down 35-30 at the break on 12-33 (36.4%) shooting from the floor, the Express would have to reach down deep to pull out the victory.

Down by three, 46-43, Greg Jones would hit a jumper while being fouled in the process and would go on to hit the free-throw to complete the unconventional 3-point play and tie the game for the Express at 46 with 12 minutes remaining.

With the Fighting Tigers holding on to a 53-52 lead with less than ten minutes to play, the Express would take the lead for good on a Paulino lay-up, starting a 22-7 run, including 13 points from Bullock, that closed the game out.

The Fighting Tigers struggled with turnovers committing 11 of their 20 in the second half. The Express also solved the Cobleskill defense in the second half hitting on 16-of-27 shots from the field, 59.3%, while connecting on 10-of-13 attempts, 76.9%, from the charity stripe during the stanza to seal the win.

The win ties the team total of 14 from last year and guarantees the Express an above .500 record for the season.

Wells returns to action on Wednesday, February 10, as they welcome Morrisville State College to campus for a 7:00 pm tip-off at the Schwartz Athletic Center.
