EXPRESS ROLL OVER NITTANY LIONS

Aurora, NY– The Wells College men's basketball team (10-4) extended their winning streak to six on Sunday afternoon, rolling over the Penn St. Berks Nittany Lions (4-9) 91-80. Darrell Bullock led the Express with a team high 19 points, while Rionn Pradia chipped in with 15 points. The Nittany Lions were led by Dontale King who finished with a game high 20 points.

The Express jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead and a 3-pointer by Matt Duffy extended the lead to 14-7 at 14:40. The Nittany Lions would climb back in as a King lay-up trimmed the lead to two at 28-26 with 3:49 remaining in the first half. From there the Express offense took over going on a 14-5 run capped by a 3-pointer by Greg Jones with 14 seconds remaining to give the Wells a 42-31 lead heading in to the break.

The Nittany Lions would come out flat in the second half and the Express would take full advantage building a 21-point lead with 12:51 remaining. A jumper by Penn St. forward Vonte Shippen would cut the lead to nine at 72-63, but that would be as close as the Nittany Lions would come as the Express offense would miss only three shots the rest of the way cruising to the 11-point victory.

Wells never trailed in a game that featured five different double digit scorers for the Express including: Marcus Thomas with 13 points and seven assists, Greg Jones with 11 points and four rebounds, and Juan Paulino who recorded his ninth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Express finished the day 47 percent (34-71) from the floor, 29 percent (7-24) from behind the arc, and 69 percent (16-23) from the charity stripe.
