EXPRESS TAME WILDCATS

Cazenovia, N.Y.–  Greg Jones scored a career high 30 points, hitting six three pointers, while Juan Paulino scored 25 points and grabbed 23 rebounds as the Wells College men's basketball team (18-6) defeated the Cazenovia College Wildcats 100-75 on Wednesday night in Cazenovia, N.Y. Darnell Sampson and Cameron Smith led the Wildcats (2-21) with 15 points each in the loss.The Express have now won five straight and seven of their last eight games.

The game was over as quickly as it started as the Express jumped out to a 30-8 lead mid-way through the first half before closing out the half up 51-21. Jones scored 19 of his 30 points in the first half, while the nations leading rebounder, Juan Paulino, did most of his damage in the half with 16 points and 19 boards.

The Express continued the onslaught in the second half, extending their lead to as many as 43 points on 65.4 percent  shooting from the floor, missing only nine shots (17-26) as the lead would be insurmountable for Cazenovia.

Darrell Bullock and Andre Sawyers rounded out four Express players in double figures with 11 points each. It was also the fourth straight game that Paulino has registered at least 20 points and 20 rebounds.

Offensively the Express were on a tear, shooting 54 percent from floor, while hitting on 7 of 18 shots from behind the arc (38.9%). The Express also finished with a team record 19 steals, while forcing 26 Wildcat turnovers.

The Express close out their regular season schedule on Sunday (Feb 21.) as they travel Harrisburg, Pa. to take on the Penn. St. Harrisburg Nittany Lions at 1:00 p.m.
