PAULINO LEADS EXPRESS IN DOMINATING VICTORY OVER NITTANY LIONS

Aurora, N.Y.–  The Wells College men's basketball team (16-6) outscored Penn. St. Berks 57-33 in the second half and Juan Paulino (Bronx, N.Y./Finger Lakes C.C.) finished with 21 points and 24 rebounds, including 17 rebounds in the second half, as the Express ripped the Nittany Lions 92-67 on Saturday afternoon in Aurora, N.Y.

Rionn Pradia (Houston, Texas/Appomattox) added 20 points and Darrell Bullock (Chicago/Olive Harvey C.C.) chipped in with 19 as the Express used a dominating second half from the floor, 20-41, including 6-16 for behind the arc, to close out the Nittany Lions.

Kemian Flowers (Reading, Pa./Wyomissing) led all Penn. St. scorers with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.

The Express opened the game cold, committing six turnovers, while shooting 4-13 from the floor as the Nittany Lions ran out to an 18-8 lead to start the game. Wells responded, rattling off 13 straight points while outscoring Berks 27-16 over the final nine minutes of the half, taking a 35-34 lead into the break.

The Express owned the second half, opening up a 15 point lead on the heels of 22-5 run, as a deflated Berks team could only sit back and watch. The Express would continue the onslaught, extending their lead to as many as 26 points en route the victory. The Express held Berks to 34 percent shooting in the second half, including 1-4 from behind the arc, while forcing eight turnovers.

It was the 10th straight home win for the Express and fourth straight over the Nittany Lions who fell to 5-15 on the year.

The Express close out their home schedule tomorrow against Penn. St. Abington at 1:00 pm in Aurora, N.Y.
