WELLS TROUNCES NITTANY LIONS

Middleton, Pa.–  Five different players scored in double-figures for the No. 2 seed Wells College Express (21-6) as they went on to defeat No. 3 seed Penn. St. Harrisburg (16-11) 103-82 in the semifinal round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Men's Basketball Tournament on Saturday afternoon in Middleton, Pa. Juan Paulino (Bronx, N.Y./Finger Lakes C.C.) chalked up his 16th straight double-double with 25 points and 20 rebounds, while Greg Jones (Alexandria, Va./West Potomac) dropped a double-double of his own with 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Express. Kenton Alston scored a game high 28 points in the loss for the Nittany Lions. It is the second straight year Wells has reached the NEAC Championship Game.

Darrell Bullock (Chicago/Olive Harve C.C.) and Rionn Pradia (Houston, Texas/Appomattox) each added 14 points, while Terrance Wright (Rochester, N.Y./ Finger Lakes C.C.) scored 13 and Marcus Thomas (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) added eight points to round out the scoring for the Express.  It was the eighth straight win for the Express who will play the winner of No. 1 seed SUNYIT and No. 5 seed SUNY Cobleskill in Sunday's championship game set to tip at 1:00 p.m. at Penn. St. Harrisburg in Middleton, Pa.

It was a tight contest through the first 16 minutes of play as the Express found themselves clinging to a two point lead, 38-36. A Darrell Bullock lay-up with 3:36 remaining would start an offensive surge for the Express as they would knock down six of ten shots down the stretch, closing out the half with a 15-2 run, and a 53-38 halftime lead. 

Wells dominated the second half, shooting 57 percent from the field including 4 of 10 from behind the arc, as they would lead by as many as 25 points in the half. 

Overall the Express shot 53.6 percent from the field, including 10-23 from 3-point range.
