EXPRESS DOMINATE STORM, CRUISE TO SIXTH STRAIGHT

(Aurora, N.Y.)─ The Wells College men's basketball team won their sixth straight game defeating the Keuka College Storm in dominating fashion 81-59 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon in Aurora. Mabior Mayen (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) led the Express with 22 points, 4 blocks, and three rebounds. Patrick Cambell (Avon, N.Y./Avon) paced the Storm with 15 points. With the victory the Express improve to 9-9 (8-3 NEAC), while the Storm fall to 3-12 (2-9 NEAC).
 
Andre Sawyers (Bronx, N.Y./Mt. St. Michaels Academy) scored a season high 17 points and finished with seven rebounds, while teammate Terry Harrison (Brooklyn, N.Y./Forest Hills) finished with 12 points and six rebounds to round-out the scoring for the Express.
 
It was chippy game that had a total of 45 fouls and four players foul out. The Express used an impressive combination of full-court and half court defense to hold the Storm to 37.9 percent from the field, while holding the advantage on the boards 45-35.
 
The Storm raced out to an early 6-1 lead but the Express kept their composure and rattled off a 10-0 run, jumping ahead 11-6 and taking a lead they would never relinquish. The Express held a 35-24 lead at the half and continued to roll in the second half, leading by as many as 24 points before losing with the 81-59 victory.

The Express return to action on Tuesday evening against NEAC opponent SUNY Cobleskill with the game set to tip at 8 p.m. in Aurora.
