YELLOW JACKETS TOP EXPRESS AT U. of ROCHESTER TOURNAMENT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The University of Rochester men's basketball team shot an outstanding 64 percent from the field, opened a 25 point lead after the first half, and never looked back en route to a 106-58 victory over the Wells College Express in game two of the University of Rochester Holiday Inn Airport Men's Basketball Tournament in Rochester, N.Y. The University of Rochester (3-1) will take on Alleghany College in the championship game at 3 p.m. tomorrow while the Express (0-4) will take on Elmira College at 1 p.m.

Kevin Marseille (Elizabeth, N.J.) paced the Express with a team high 13 points while Mabior Mayen (Syracsue, N.Y.) chipped in with eight points.

John DiBartolomeo led Rochester with a game high 20 points while teammate Rob Reid added 14 points and 11 rebounds, registering the games only double-double.

The Yellow Jackets of Rochester jumped out to an early 10 point lead but, a 5-0 run by the Express midway through the first half pulled Wells back to within five (15-10). It would be all Rochester from there, finishing the half shooting an impressive 62 percent from the field, including 6 of 10 from behind the arc, and 11 of 12 from the charity stripe.

The Yellow Jackets continued their hot shooting in the second half, hitting on 7 of 15 from three-point range as Rochester cruised to the victory.

The Yellow Jackets held the advantage on the boards 38-22 and moved the ball well finishing with 30 assists to the Express 9. Wells finished 38.9 from the field and 5 of 16 from behind the arc.
