Bishop Tabbed As NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Freshman guard Jordan Bishop (Arlington, Texas) was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts across the past week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. Bishop and the Express posted a 1-1 week, highlighted by a 92-82 victory over the Giants of Keystone College on Tuesday.

Against Keystone on Nov. 20, Bishop was a season-best 3-for-4 from three point range and was also 7-for-7 at the free throw line, recording a season-high 18 points. His perfect free throw percentage makes him only the sixth player in program history to accomplish that feat, joining teammate E.J. Taylor (Tampa Bay, Fla.) as the second person to do so this season.

Versus Hartwick this past Sunday, Bishop tied for the team lead with 10 points, converting 5-of-9 field goals to comprise his total. On the season, Bishop is averaging 30.3 minutes per game and 10.3 points per contest. Additionally, he leads all freshman scorers on the squad in points per game and is also tied for the team lead with six steals to his credit. His eight assists in four games rank him second on the team.

The Express return to action this Wednesday, Nov. 28 as they host the Saxons of Alfred University in a 7:00 p.m. contest at the Frances Tarlton Farenthold Athletic Wing.
