Paul Picks Up NEAC Third Team All-Conference Recognition

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Senior captain Al Paul (Elmont, N.Y.) of the Wells College men's basketball team secured North Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Third Team All-Conference honors following the 2013-14 season, the conference office announced on Tuesday. Paul and the Express recently wrapped up their season with an overall record of 8-17 and secured seven NEAC victories on the year.

Known throughout the conference for his propensity to draw charges, Paul had a strong offensive season after averaging 11.6 points per game while shooting team-best 79.3% from the foul line in 2013-14 to rank fifth in the conference. Across 25 games played, Paul also shot 42.5% from the floor (96-for-226) while pouring home five three-point baskets in nine attempts as a senior.

In 2013-14, Paul scored a season-high 19 points against the Wildcats from the SUNY Institute of Technology in a 90-87 victory on Jan. 20, shooting 8-for-12 from the floor. Across the season, Paul scored double-digit point totals in 17 of his team's 25 games.

Across a two year career with the Express, Paul has appeared in 44 career games for Wells and graduates fourth all-time in free throws made (146), free throw percentage (.811), rebounding average (4.5) and games started (43). He is the eighth player in team history to be selected as an All-Conference player.
