Men's Basketball Turned Aside By No. 20 Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. – Competing against its second nationally-ranked opponent of the season, the Wells College men's basketball team fell to No. 20 Lancaster Bible College by an 86-59 margin on Friday. With the defeat, Wells drops to 6-10 overall and to 4-5 within the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The Chargers remain undefeated in 14 overall contest and eight league tilts.

Junior Vaughndell Brantley (Syracuse, N.Y.) dropped 19 points on the Chargers, tallying six rebounds and three assists on the day after converting 10-of-12 foul shots. Junior James Feocco (Auburn, N.Y.) struck for 14 points and 13 rebounds while freshman Rich Ross (Bronx, N.Y.) posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

The Wells defense limited nationally-ranked Lancaster Bible to only 86 points, the Chargers' lowest offensive output since Nov. 20, 2015.

After early offensive struggles by both teams, a jumper by Lancaster Bible's Dondre Perry put his team up for good with the first basket of the game with only 2:26 expired. The Chargers went on a 7-0 run to start the game and never looked back after freshman Zachary Marsh converted a three-point basket with 5:46 remaining in the first, shrinking the hosts lead to five points at 25-20.

From that point forward, Lancaster Bible controlled play and pressured the Express defenses down the stretch, continuing to apply pressure in the game's final minutes while building up a 27-point lead with 40 seconds remaining.

CJ Dunston led the Chargers with 25 points, shooting 12-for-15 from the floor, while adding a team-best nine rebounds. Bryce Williams chipped in with 17 points while Kurt Kelner and Dondre Perry each finished with 12 for Lancaster Bible.

Wells travels to Morrisville State College this Thursday, Jan. 28, taking on the host Mustangs at 5 p.m.
