Men's Basketball Maintains Perfect NEAC Record

The Wells College men's basketball team maintained its perfect record this season against North Eastern Athletic Conference opposition with a 66-50 win over SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Schwartz Center. Wells outscored Cobleskill 39-20 in the second half. It was the sixth time in eight victories this season that the Express has rallied from a halftime deficit to come back and win.

Wells is 8-3 overall and 6-0 in the NEAC. Cobleskill is 0-11 on the season and 0-5 in the conference.

Rich Ross and Chris Courtney each had 17 points for Wells. James Feocco and Vaughndell Brantley had nine points each. Ross led Wells with 13 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks.

Wells trailed 30-27 at halftime, but dominated the final 20 minutes for the victory. Wells led 44-43 and scored seven points in a row to take control.

The Express held Cobleskill to 31 percent shooting from the field.

Wells is back in action with a home game Sunday at 3 p.m. against SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
