Men's Basketball Cruises To Victory On Senior Day

The Wells College men's basketball team wrapped up its regular season with an 87-77 win over Penn College on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Schwartz Athletic Center in Aurora.

Prior to the game, Wells honored seniors Vaughndell Brantley, Chris Courtney, and James Feocco.

Wells capped its regular season with a 17-8 overall record and 14-4 record in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Wells will play a NEAC quarterfinal game Tuesday at Morrisville State College.

The Express ran out to an 8-3 lead in the opening minutes of the game and never trailed in the contest. Wells led 50-32 at halftime and built its largest lead of 21 points on a 3-pointer early in the second half by Brantley.

Courtney led Wells with 17 points and Brantley had 12 points. Each made three 3-pointers in the contest. Feocco scored nine points and had five rebounds.

Rich Ross scored 16 points and Anthony Nesci had seven assists.

Wells forced 22 Penn College turnovers.
