Men's Basketball Playoff Information For Tuesday

The Wells College men's basketball team is in North Eastern Athletic Conference playoff action tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. at Morrisville State College.

Fans attending the game at Morrisville tonight should be advised that the Mustangs are also hosting a women's basketball playoff game that begins at 6 p.m. Admission to the arena is $4. Those unable to attend in person can follow the game via Video Webcast and Live Stats.

Wells enters the game with a 17-8 overall record and went 14-4 in the NEAC during the regular season to finish third in the NEAC North Division. Morrisville finished second with a 15-3 NEAC record and the Mustangs are 19-6 overall. Wells won 72-71 at Morrisville in a regular-season game on Jan. 7 when Rich Ross made a 3-pointer on the final shot of the game. Morrisville won 84-70 at Wells on Feb. 5.

It is the second year in a row and seventh time in nine years that Wells has qualified for the conference playoffs. Wells won the NEAC Championship in 2011 and advanced to the championship game in 2009, 2010, and 2013.

Wells and Morrisville have previously met once in postseason play, with Morrisville claiming a 74-72 win in the 2013 NEAC Championship game at Morrisville. Morrisville holds a 13-5 advantage in the all-time series between the teams.

The winner of Tuesday night's game advances to the NEAC championship weekend, hosted by Gallaudet University. Semifinal games will take place Saturday at 2 and 4 p.m. and the championship game is Sunday at 2 p.m.
