RIT Rallies Past Wells In Men's Basketball

The Wells College men's basketball team traveled to Rochester and fell by a score of 73-65 score to the Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Clark Gym at RIT. Wells is 0-2 on the season and RIT won its season-opener to start the year 1-0.

Rich Ross led Wells with 30 points and Macho DeJesus scored 16 for the Express.

Wells opened a 17-11 lead in the first half, the largest lead of the game for Wells. The Express led 32-30 at halftime as Anthony Nesci made a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

RIT started the second half with a 5-0 run and the teams traded leads until RIT held Wells off the scoreboard for a stretch of more than five minutes. The Tigers' lead grew to as high as 15 points in the late stages of the second half and they finished the game with an eight-point victory.

The game included five ties and 16 lead changes.

David Dames led Wells with 11 rebounds and two blocked shots.

Wells is back in action Monday, Nov. 20 at D'Youville College at 6 p.m.
