Hot-Shooting Alfred State Defeats Wells Men's Basketball

The Wells College men's basketball team had three players score in double-figures in a 76-67 loss against Alfred State on Monday, Nov. 27 at the Schwartz Athletic Center.

Rich Ross led Wells with 25 points, Macho DeJesus added 19 and David Dames scored 10 points.

Wells got a layup from Ross and a 3-pointer from DeJesus in the opening minute of the game but that was the largest lead of the game for the Express at 5-0. The game was close throughout the first half and most of the second half. There were eight ties and seven lead changes.

The Express forced 17 Alfred State turnovers and converted those to 17 points. Alfred State made more than half of its field-goal attempts with 31 baskets on 61 shots.

Jalen Tribble had eight points and a team-best eight rebounds. In addition to his 25 points, Ross had six rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Dames had six rebounds and three steals.

Alfred State improved to 3-2 and Wells is 0-4 on the season.

Wells returns to action this weekend and begins NEAC play Saturday, Dec. 2 with a 1 p.m. game at Cazenovia College.
