High-Scoring Night Leads Men's Basketball To Win

The Wells College men's basketball team earned a 94-55 win over Washington & Jefferson in the semifinal round of the Bill Sudeck Holiday Tournament hosted by Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Wells had its best offensive performance of the year with 94 points. Four players scored in double figures and the team shot 53 percent from the floor and made 14 3-pointers.

Wells will play in the championship game Saturday, Dec. 30 at 4 p.m. against either Case Western Reserve or Alfred University.

The Express dominated the first half and led 52-21 at halftime. Rich Ross and Tyree Fisher each scored 11 points in the first half and Zach D'Arpino added nine. Wells held its double-digit lead throughout the second half, and 11 different players scored for Wells in the half.

Macho DeJesus led Wells with 19 points, Ross and D'Arpino scored 16 each and Fisher scored 11 points. D'Arpino's 16-point night was a career-best scoring total.

Jalen Tribble led Wells with 12 rebounds and two blocked shots. Ross had five assists and nine rebounds.

The Express improved its record to 2-7 on the year and Washington & Jefferson is 1-9.
