First-Place Lancaster Bible Outguns Wells

The Wells College men's basketball team lost 91-80 to North Eastern Athletic Conference South Division leader Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Schwartz Athletic Center.

Lancaster Bible College is 18-4 overall and 13-0 in the NEAC. Wells is 6-14 overall and 4-7 in the NEAC.

Both teams lit up the scoreboard in the first half. They combined for 98 points in the opening half as Wells held a 51-47 lead. Wells shot 65.6 percent from the floor in the first half and Lancaster Bible shot 63.3 percent.

Wells made six 3-pointers in the first half, and shot 1-for-10 from behind the arc in the second half. Lancaster Bible made seven 3-pointers in the second half and pulled away for an 11-point victory.

Rich Ross scored 29 points for the Express. Tyree Fisher added 19 points and David Dames had 10 points and 16 rebounds. Macho DeJesus led Wells with three steals.

Six players for Lancaster Bible College scored in double figures.

The Express is back in action Sunday, Feb. 4 at noon against Wilson College.
