Perimeter Game Leads Wilson Past Men's Basketball

The Wells College men's basketball team dropped an 86-67 game against North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Wilson College on Sunday, Feb. 4 at the Schwartz Athletic Center. Wilson outscored Wells by 27 points from behind the 3-point line, as the Phoenix made 15 threes to six successful 3-point attempts for Wells.

The Express held strong in the opening nine minutes and held a 19-18 lead when Tyree Fisher nailed a jumper. That capped an 8-1 run for Wells. Wilson responded with a 14-5 run for a 10-point lead and never trailed again.

Wilson was 10-for-19 from the 3-point line in the second half and extended its largest lead to 31 points. Four players scored in double figures for the Phoenix.

Rich Ross scored 22 points to lead Wells. David Dames had 10 points and 17 rebounds. Tyree Fisher added eight points. Anthony Nesci, Jordyn Tyler, and Macho DeJesus scored seven each.

Wilson improved to 15-6 overall and 9-3 in the NEAC. Wells is 6-15 with a 4-8 conference record.

Wells is back home Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. against Penn College.
