Six Score In Double Figures As Men's Basketball Rolls

The Wells College men's basketball team had six players score in double figures in a 90-54 win over Penn College on Thursday, Feb. 8 at the Schwartz Athletic Center in Aurora, N.Y.

Anthony Nesci led Wells with 16 points. He was 4-for-6 from the field including 3-for-4 from behind the 3-point line. Rich Ross added 14 points and David Dames scored 12. The starting five was well-supported by the rest of the Wells roster. Jordyn Tyler, Zach D'Arpino, and Mohamed Hassan scored 10 points each off the bench. Wells outscored Penn College 34-15 in bench points.

Wells posted its largest margin of victory of the season and maintained hold of a fourth place tie in the North Eastern Athletic Conference North Division. The Express is 7-15 overall and 5-8 in the NEAC. Penn College is 2-18 overall and 2-10 in the NEAC.

The Express committed just nine turnovers and held a 49-40 rebounding advantage.

Dames led Wells with nine rebounds and Tyree Fisher had six rebounds and seven assists.

Wells scored the first five points of the game and never trailed. A 25-8 run by the Express in the first half pushed the Wells advantage to 33-13 and the lead remained at double-digits for the rest of the game.

Wells will play at home Saturday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. against first-place Morrisville State College. Prior to the game, a Senior Day ceremony will recognize Jordyn Tyler.
