Cold Shooting To Start Sinks Men's Basketball

The Wells College men's basketball team wrapped up a two-game trip to Naples, Fla. and lost by an 82-51 score against Suffolk University on Sunday, Dec. 30.

The Express offense failed to get on track in the early going as Wells started the game just 3-for-21 from the field which allowed Suffolk to build a big first-half lead. Suffolk led 44-16 at halftime. The game was much more even in the second half as Suffolk outscored Wells 38-35 in the second half.

Suffolk had 23 more field-goal attempts and totaled 18 offensive rebounds. The Rams shot 14-for-33 from behind the 3-point line. Wells made three from behind the arc in 16 attempts.

Rich Ross led Wells with 17 points, A.J. Nesci added 13 points, and Jalen Tribble had 10 points. Ross had 10 rebounds and Tribble had eight rebounds. Dylan Frost had three blocked shots and a steal to go with five points.

The Express returns home and resumes conference play when Wells hosts Cazenovia College on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 3 p.m.
