Second-Half Surge Comes Up Short For Men's Basketball

The Wells College men's basketball team lost 81-70 Saturday, Jan. 12 at Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup in Williamsport, Pa. The Express had three players in double figures.

Wells trailed by 11 at halftime and played even over the final 20 minutes. Penn College built its lead to 18 points early in the second half but Wells responded with a 17-2 run to make the score 54-51 in favor of the Wildcats. During the run, Rich Ross had 11 points on five field goals including one 3-pointer.

Rich Ross had 32 points for Wells, Dylan Frost scored 12, and Jalen Tribble scored 10. Tribble led Wells with 12 rebounds. Ross was 5-for-10 from behind the 3-point arc and had four steals and seven rebounds. A.J. Nesci had seven assists. Wells was 21-for-28 at the free-throw line.

Wells is back in action Sunday, Jan. 13 at Penn State Berks.
